Lose Weight with Aerobic Dancing Exercises
Article by Steve Jorgensen
You can Dance away your extra pounds!
There is no need to struggle, you can have fun exercising! Do it the Zumba way!
Zumba is an aerobic dance craze started by a professional Colombian dancer in the early 1990s. It zoomed to popular heights in the United States by 2001. Then it spread to other countries and now it is quite popular across most countries throughout the world.
Mostly Zumba classes are offered at fitness centers and colleges, and YMCAs across the US with Zumba trained instructors, but you can also work out at home with the aid of their DVDs which come in a set that offers instructions in beginning steps, and many different styles, as well as advanced dance techniques for more intensive workouts.
Because it is a form of aerobic exercise set to music, Zumba could be classified as an example of the classic Exercise Videos. But it is so popular because of the great moves and the pounding Latin beat which gets your feet tapping. They say it is not really an exercise class as much as a fitness party. That’s because the classes are fun. And you can recreate that fun at home with your own set of the DVDs.
So, one question comes to mind, will Zumba help you in your weight loss goals? Can you lose weight dancing the Zumba?
The answer is YES, it is a form of the main fat burning exercise, which is aerobic exercise, and you can pick up the speed to whatever level you need to drop those pounds. The music makes it fun and keeps you motivated to do the exercise regularly, and it also helps you to exercise longer than some boring exercise would.
The DVDs are easy to use, you just follow along, they go through warm-up exercises, reminders of the steps, then lead you into the hot song exercises.
Besides the fun in the dance, the Zumba aerobic exercise is planned to keep you interested because there are a lot of new songs, and new music to learn, and new ones are released often to keep everything fresh.
The thing about dancing as a form of exercise is that it burns a lot of energy and keeps the cariovascular system working, but it does it in a fun way, it hardly seems like it is exercise at all. It’s just fun. Some people want to know if it is just a passing fad that will fade away.
Well, you never know, many of the popular exercise and weight loss programs are passing fads that people get bored with and quit after a little while. But it seems as if Zumba’s creators have taken this to heart, as they keep adding to the routines with different music and moves, so it seems like it will last longer than most. Soon it will imporant for the Zumba exerciser to stock a lot the older DVDs as well as the new releases so they can have a greater selection of music to dance to. It is fun!
But here’s the thing, you should go with what works. You have to be doing some sort of exercise, might as well be the Zumba. Here’s the way we see it:
It’s a popular and fun way to exercise, there is a certain amount of excitement involved due to lively instructors and cast and crew with certified trainers, and there is the hot Latin music and the rythmic dancing party-like atmosphere. And since Zumba is designed to tone and shape the muscles of the body as well as burn off the pounds, it is a very effective form exercise. Who cares how long it will be popular, go with what works, and Zumba works.
Plus, with your own set of DVDs you can workout in the privacy of your own home without driving to a class, or paying monthly fees. You can do it at whatever speed you want, depending on your fitness level and not worry what others think.
The best way to find out if it works for you is to to try it your self, go sign up for a class or buy a set of the DVDs for yourself. Dance up and down, left and right, really boogie, see if you don’t lose weight. As they say Just Join the Party.
